A CAR BUILT FOR THE THRILL OF DRIVING
When designing the Civic Type R, the Honda design team’s vision was to create a manoeuvrability in which the driver can put their confidence. Built to feel like you could keep driving forever, the Honda Civic Type R offers a thrilling driving experience that reflects Honda’s unique thinking and innovative nature. Every component of the Civic Type R has been designed to provide a seriously exhilarating driving experience so you can have complete confidence when you get behind the wheel.
EXHILARATING PERFORMANCE
The Honda Civic Type R is a car that responds to its driver. With a combination of its 2.0 VTEC TURBO engine, three selective drive modes and a unique powertrain, the Type R offers exhilarating performance every time you slide into the driving seat. With 320 PS (400Nm of torque) and a triple exhaust, the Type R is an adrenaline-releasing car to drive as you feel the engine take you from 0 to 62mph in just 5.8 seconds.
The Honda Civic Type R was built on the Japanese manufacturer’s heritage of developing high-performance cars. Sharing the same fundamentals as the 10th generation Civic, the Type R is a functional vehicle inside a dramatic package. From its sculpted lines to its aerodynamic details, every feature on the Type R has been designed to give the driver a true connection with both the car and the road. The result is a vehicle that performs exactly the way you want it to, with optimised airflow, boosted down-force, razor-sharp handling and maximum power transfer to the road.
ATHLETIC AND ALIVE
Given that the “R” in the Civic Type R name stands for “racing”, it’s no surprise that this vehicle is one of the brand’s sportiest cars to hit the market. With track-inspired upholstery and six sporty shades of paintwork to choose from, the Type R’s design matches its thrilling performance perfectly. The Type R has been designed with superior aerodynamics to minimise drag and lift. Sitting low, the Honda Civic Type R is aggressively sporty with 245/30 tyres that fill its wheel arches. Add in its unique 20-inch alloy wheels, short overhangs on the body and taut lines, and the result is a head-turning vehicle that leaves a lasting impression.
AN AWARD WINNING VEHICLE
Soon after its release, the Honda Civic Type R scooped an impressive three awards in the annual Top Gear Magazine Awards. As well as snapping up the top prize of “Car of the Year”, the Honda hatchback was also named the “Hot Hatch of the Year” and “Top Gear International Editors’ Car of the Year” in the prestigious industry awards.
