The new Nissan Micra is coming soon

The Nissan Micra is making a comeback - and this time it’s had a seriously modern makeover. Drivers of the new Nissan Micra will be able to enjoy the same Micra experience with cleaner power because the sixth-generation Micra, which is set to be available at the end of the year, is going fully electric for the first time ever.

Whether you’re looking to invest in your first electric vehicle or simply want to upgrade to something small, sustainable, and enjoyable to drive, the 2025 Nissan Micra has a lot to offer. It’s compact enough to make driving in city traffic as easy as can be, stylish enough that you want to be seen in it, and smart enough to provide a comfortable ride for everybody on board.

Here is everything you need to know about the 2025 Nissan Micra EV ahead of its release later this year.

A Big Step for Small Cars

Compact, charming, and cleverly reimagined, the new Micra keeps everything drivers loved about the original and adds a healthy dose of future-ready tech.

There’s no doubt that the new Micra is aiming to do more than just replace the old model. It’s a signpost for where small cars are headed: electric, affordable, and stylish without sacrificing everyday practicality. And with growing pressure on cities to cut emissions and reduce car footprints, this pint-sized EV is arriving at just the right time.

A Familiar Face with a Futuristic Twist

Even though you can expect to see the popular supermini with a full modern upgrade, the styling will be unmistakably Micra. Rounded headlights and soft, flowing lines give the new Micra it a playful retro vibe - a subtle nod to its popular predecessors - while the design still feels fresh, clean and confidently modern.

If you were worried that going electric meant losing the Micra’s iconic personality - don’t be. The 2025 Nissan Micra still has all the spirit of the nippy city car that’s won over drivers for decades, only with future-ready electric power for cleaner, more efficient driving.

Two Battery Options

The electric Micra will come with a choice of two battery sizes, so you can choose the version that’s perfect for you. The smaller battery offers 40kWh and around 186 miles of range on a full charge, while the larger 52kWh version will be able to take you up to 248 miles on a single charge (based on WLTP figures).

Whether you’re running errands around town or planning a longer motorway trip, this compact electric car will have enough juice to get you where you need to go without the range anxiety. And with a target price expected to be under £25,000, it’s shaping up to be one of the more accessible EVs in its class.

Smarter Inside and Out

While Nissan’s keeping the full interior reveal close to its chest, we’re expecting a cabin that feels just as forward-thinking as the exterior. Think digital displays, app connectivity, and all the modern bells and whistles without losing the simplicity and usability that Micra drivers love.

Safety tech will likely include everything we see in the latest Nissan cars, from adaptive cruise control to lane-keeping assist and emergency braking, making the new Micra not just cleaner, but smarter and safer too
