The All-New Nissan Micra has added another achievement to one of the best-known names in small cars, taking the Small Car of the Year title at Car Dealer Magazine’s 2026 Power Awards.

The Micra name has been part of Nissan's range for more than 40 years, but the latest model represents a significant change. The All-New Nissan Micra is fully electric, bringing the familiar small-car name into a new era.
Its compact proportions remain particularly well suited to UK driving. At under four metres long, the Micra is designed to be easy to manoeuvre through busy streets and into smaller parking spaces. Five doors also help make it a practical option for everyday use.

One of the most important considerations when choosing an electric car is range, and Nissan offers the new Micra with a choice of 40kWh and 52kWh batteries.
The larger 52kWh version can deliver up to 260 miles of WLTP range, while the 40kWh model offers up to 198 miles. That gives drivers the flexibility to choose a version based on how and where they typically travel.
Distinctive Design in a Compact Package
The new Micra has a distinctive appearance, with pronounced wheel arches, clean surfaces and circular lighting details helping to give it its own character.
There are also several exterior colour combinations available, including contrasting roof options on selected versions. This gives buyers scope to personalise their Micra while retaining the model's compact and practical shape.
Technology Designed Around the Driver
The transformation continues inside. The new Micra features a modern digital cabin with dual 10.3-inch displays on selected grades, bringing vehicle information and infotainment within easy view of the driver.
Google built-in is another notable feature, providing access to services including Google Maps, Google Assistant and Google Play. Smartphone integration is also available for drivers who prefer to use familiar apps and services from their own device.
The electric platform brings additional useful technology, including systems designed to help drivers manage charging and plan journeys around available range.

Despite its compact exterior, the Micra has been designed to remain useful for everyday life. It provides seating for five and a 326-litre boot, giving drivers room for shopping, bags and other day-to-day essentials.
Its five-door configuration also makes accessing the rear seats straightforward. Combined with the quiet and responsive characteristics of an electric powertrain, these features make the Micra suitable for everything from urban commuting to weekend trips.
